The Du-man says: This is my mother's potato salad recipe. The kids always called her grandma games because anytime she came up to visit we would play games on the kitchen table for hours on end.
When I was growing up I have fond memories of Sunday suppers that consisted of this potato salad served with hot dogs and ketchup. (No buns)
3 lbs. small, red potatoes
1 stalk celery, diced
1 small onion, diced
1 fresh tomato, cubed, or chunked, (I like to add a little more)
3-4 radishes, sliced thin
1 small bottle (5.75 oz) stuffed green olives. (slice them into thirds)
1 small can (2.25 oz) sliced ripe olives, drained
Salt and pepper to taste.
1 cup Hellman's mayonnaise (8 oz. jar)
1/2 cup sweet pickle relish
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1 Tblsp. French dressing (gives it a distinctive color)
Boil the potatoes, about 20 to 25 minutes, stick a fork in them, you’ll know when they are done.
While the potatoes are boiling, prepare the other ingredients and make the dressing.
When the potatoes are done, run cold water over them until you can handle them, then removes the skins and slice them into a big bowl.
Mix well with the other ingredients. Add the dressing.
Garnish with whatever makes it look pretty.
Every spoonful is loaded with tasty surprises.
