Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

From www.allrecipes.com

1-2 pounds fresh asparagus, rinsed, with tough ends snapped off
salt and pepper to taste (I don’t salt if I’m adding sauce)

Sauce:
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Lightly spray baking pan or dish with cooking spray.
Arrange asparagus on a baking sheet, alternating think and thin ends so it will bake evenly.

Bake asparagus 15 - 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until tender crisp.
Melt butter in a saucepan or microwave. Remove from heat, and stir in soy sauce and balsamic vinegar. Pour over the baked asparagus to serve. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds if desired.

*Notes:
- With or without sauce, this is the perfect way to prepare asparagus! Add only butter, add a cheese sauce, chill and serve cold with a vinaigrette dressing or in a salad.
- Fresh is best, use asparagus as soon as you can after it’s picked or purchased. Wrap in damp paper toweling, tuck inside an open plastic bag, and store in the crisper to keep fresh until it’s used.
