Preheat oven to 375 degrees
In large mixing bowl combine...
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 Tblsp. baking powder
1/2 cup Quick Cooking Oatmeal
1/3 cup melted butter
1/3 cup milk
1 egg, slightly beaten
3/4 cup dried fruit (Craisens, Dried Cherries, blueberries, Raisins, etc.)
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
Now, choose your shapes! Either:
Turn dough out on to a lightly floured board and pat to 3/4 inch thick. Cut into round shapes with a biscuit cutter or use cookie cutters...flowers, HEARTS!
Place on greased cookie sheet.

Press dough into a 9" round, greased pie plate or cake pan.
Pre-cut the wedge-shape pieces with a knife.
Spritz or dab top of scones with water, sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 375 degrees until light golden brown, approx 15 minutes.
(Cake pan will take at least 20 minutes; a glass pie plate up to 30 minutes.)
- These are really easy and great with a salad or for breakfast.
- Chocolate chips and little toffee bits work pretty swell together for add-ins too!
- My favorite-dried cranberries or cherries with white chocolate chips!
- A bit of orange zest is good with cranberries and a hint of cinnamon works well with nuts and raisins. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm!
