California Walnut Pie

From the kitchen of Becky Witter

½ cups packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1¼ cup light corn syrup
3 tablespoons butter
¼ salt
3 eggs
1½ teaspoon vanilla
1 cup whole walnut pieces
1 unbaked 9” pie shell

Mix brown sugar and flour in sauce pan.
Add corn syrup, butter & salt.
Warm over low heat just until butter is melted.
Beat eggs with vanilla.
Stir in sugar mixture.
Pour into pie shell; sprinkle with walnuts.
Bake on lower rack of oven at 375 degrees for 40 – 45 minutes, until filling is set in center.
Cool before cutting.
Makes 1- 9 inch pie.
